Ali Balcı is a Professor of International Relations at Sakarya University’s Department of International Relations, where he has taught since 2004. His research focuses on high-level leader diplomacy, the UN Security Council, Ottoman international politics, and theories of international relations. He is the recipient of a Jean Monnet Chair awarded by the European Commission (2025–2028) and an elected associate member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA).
